And don’t even get me started on writing workshops where bringing up the idea that no writing is apolitical gets people talking about the craziest of scenarios: “what if the child was raised by wolves and wrote something, is that political?”. Uh ok, it’s not, but let’s get back to the real world (though maybe they should write about it and given the desire for many in the country to live free (aka naively) I’m surprised stories about an apolitical fantasy world where the protagonist writes apolitically aren’t already a hit genre…)
