I’m reading Three Kingdoms. One of the best books around. The first line is ominous in that it speaks to our times and the bubbling zeitgeist that threatens the social fabric in our republic as well as in nations around the world: “Unity succeeds division and division follows unity.”
What follows is an epic of a state in disrepair that allows for slights and ambitions to grow into rebellion that festers around the Kingdom.
To be honest, any approximation here will do the book no justice. You should certainly check this out as it makes Game of Thrones seem simplistic.
Of course, what it exactly has to say about our times I’ll soon find out.
