I’m with you on this one! Few people can read 100 books and actually interact with the material, learn it, grow from it. YMMV, of course, but as a writer I have found that it’s best to take notes, jot ideas for future research and stories and art from the text (this would be the more serious reading — & let’s be honest, that’s most of the books we have time for). This takes time.

Not to say I won’t read some easy text that will (besides the comments on articles…. I Swears!) not require retention.

But for the bulk of my books I’ll take my time and absorb them. Happy reading!
