Nailed it by pointing out how great NYC is (no other city like it in the US, certainly, maybe the world) in terms of diversity. I too miss the subway though you can get one which smells horrible, it is, as Kerouac said, the world’s living room.

But the people who helped keep it a great place are getting displaced. I’m out, though I miss it most every day:
