Nice. Yeah haven’t been missing FB at all. Same with IG which I quit some time ago (and I’d joined because I had heard that insta-poets had used to bypass the usual gatekeepers and increase diversity in the writing world). Yet, though I had initially joined Twitter to maximize my news feeds.

But man o man, did I fail at that. Just following “all sides” during the Syrian war was an exercise in futility, my friend. One man’s propaganda is another’s news feed, sure, but this was too much. And even following human rights groups wasn’t particularly helpful because it’s better to go to their websites to read the full report (or the abstract if you’re short on time) to get a grip of what’s going on in any conflict etc.

What I’m saying, then, is that I have failed at curating a proper news feed (which, IMO, takes into account the fringes that represent grassroots movements and give real news before mainstream outlets get them and also balancing multiple newsrooms from around the world to counter each nation’s biases and the money that can corrupt said newsrooms).

So what methods have you used to maximize your Twitter use? Who do you follow? Looking forward to hearing from you!
